In order to promote the BCIA Awards Program, please click below to find
an informational flyer that outlines the basic specifics of our awards.
Each nominee needs to be an active member of Alabama BCIA in order to be
nominated. I have sent out a reference sheet to verify that a potential
nominee is an active member of Alabama BCIA. The nominees will be
featured and the winners announced at the Alabama BCIA Annual Meeting
and Awards Presentation to be held in conjunction with the Alabama
Cattlemen’s Association Convention on Friday and Saturday, February
13-14, 2009 in Montgomery at the Montgomery Civic Center. Please find
attached a BCIA Commercial and a Purebred Producer of the Year Award
Application. At least 5 digital or film photos (and up to 10) of the
nominee and his or her cattle operation are also required with the
completed application. Please include a picture of the person(s) and cow
and/or bull photos. All applications and photos need to be mailed
into the Alabama BCIA office by Monday, November 17, 2008. These
applications are a shortened version of the national BIF application.
Once the BCIA Awards Committee selects state winners, the nominator and
I will work with the winners to prepare their applications for the
national competition. The National BIF Convention will be held on April
30-May 3, 2009 in Sacramento, California, so the national applications
should be due in March. Please contact me at the BCIA office if you have
