Youth Competitions at ACA Convention: Career Development, Public Speaking & Quiz Bowl

Bring your best skills to the convention to compete for your chance at scholarship dollars!

The career development contest will challenge contestants ages 17-21 to bring their best to a mock job interview where interviewers will provide them with feedback to apply toward future jobs or internships. Youth ages 9-21 are invited to take the stage in a public speaking contest with a variety of talking points. This contest will require proficiency in public speaking and serve to train a new generation of beef industry advocates. Lastly, the quiz bowl competition will create a fun, game show atmosphere to showcase students' knowledge of the beef industry!

The contests are sponsored by the Alabama Beef Checkoff Program and feature scholarship awards for the top three in each age division for career development and public speaking, while the quiz bowl will offer a non-monetary award! More information is available in the PDF packet below.

Online pre-registration is now closed, but we welcome all walk-in registrations on Friday, February 14 between 8-5 p.m.

8:00-8:30 a.m. Check in at registration booth
9:00 a.m. Career Development (senior division only)
10:00 a.m. Public Speaking Contest
